IfE GmbH was founded in 1993 and has the business purpose of providing technical and economic management consulting. IfE GmbH is primarily a service provider for municipal utilities and regional energy supply companies throughout Germany and supports a variety of regulatory and energy-related business processes in the fields of electricity, gas, water and district heating.
With more than 30 years of experience in consulting, IfE GmbH supports its clients in all the challenges of incentive regulation, both in the calculation of network fees and in all other mandatory regulatory tasks. In addition, the Ingenieurbüro für Energiewirtschaft supports the introduction implementation of energy management systems and the implementation of energy audits.
In order to remain internally up to date with the latest technology, IfE GmbH decided to make its internal processes even more efficient and to introduce a business software that, in addition to project management, should also enable individual customer contact management. The stand-alone solutions in use should be exchanged and all relevant information of customers and projects should be maintained centrally in one system without redundancies.
Previously, contact management took place in different systems, services were recorded locallyentered which made controlling timely controlling difficult. Invoicing was also a manual, time-consuming processprocess IfE GmbH recognised the potential for improvement, analysed the industry-related software market and was ultimately convinced by Vertec.
When selecting the software, IfE GmbH attached great importance to the possibility of making adjustments yourself, of course release-capable, in order to be able to map further requirements in the future, without being solely dependent on the provider.
The implementation project started with an administration training day, followed by another 1.5 days to remotely map the core processes in Vertec together with a Vertec project manager.

When implementation of Vertec, IfE GmbH initially focused on project execution and controlling in order not to overload the implementation project with details and to ensure the acceptance of all employees. Project status, budget controlling and monitoring of expiring deadlines were in the foreground.
As the next step, IfE GmbH will use the Vertec know-how and the extensive knowledge base to expand customer contact management. “Vertec enables us to map customer management in a unified system in addition to project management,” says Mario Schneider. In addition to the classic follow-up, IfE GmbH will implement sophisticated campaign management for mailings and the mapping of individual sales opportunities. The highlight is that the customer can mostly do this themselves.

Should it be necessary, IfE GmbH will call on Vertec’s project management. This means that Vertec will also meet future requirements.
In the future, further ideas and wishes can be parameterized in Vertec, be it workflows with approval processes or additional requirements for project execution due to a growing range of services. The modular structure and the extensive possibilities for parameterization ensure the long-term use of Vertec.
