ELCA Informatique SA is one of the most important players in the Swiss IT industry. The company can look back on 45 years of experience and is one of the largest independent software companies in the country. Based in Lausanne, the company offers IT consulting and software engineering services. ELCA SA independently develops complete solutions for its customers, even in complex cases. Due to the many projects ELCA has built up a comprehensive know-how for the successful management of IT projects and has supplemented this in recent years with agile project methods.
Consistent project management also contributes to the success of ELCA. For controlling, the same, standardized settings exist throughout the ELCA Group, in which all projects are evaluated in detail according to tried and tested settings. “Project leaders and other management levels thus always have a clear idea of how a project stands in terms of deadlines, quality and finances. This is the basis for successfully handling projects in fixed-price mode,” says Laurent Wassenberg, CFO of ELCA. As a result, the company remains flexible despite its size.
Vertec can fully implement the stringent requirements for controlling. Thanks to its pronounced parameterizability, Vertec’s standard software can seamlessly map the extensive structures and settings of ELCA. Nevertheless, the planning and preparations for the implementation of Vertec took only five months. For CFO Wassenberg, this was the first confirmation that he had found a suitable partner in Vertec: “The flexibility of the software and the efficient implementation made it clear that Vertec is a good fit for us.”

Vertec now serves as a hub for the entire project management. Datum from other systems – such as Microsoft Sharepoint for managing offers – are connected to Vertec via standard interfaces. This allows ELCA employees easy access to the data. ELCA has also opted for a lean solution for Vertec updates: The IT service provider carries out the software updates themselves – and thus remains flexible in this area as well.
