The recording of worker skills makes it possible to document the skills and development opportunities of employees in different areas and to evaluate them in the Business Intelligence module.
Skill management is based on the so-called skill entry in Vertec. Skill entries are entered for User and assigned annually to a subject area or industry. The skill entry can include two values, one for competence (skill competence) and one for potential (skill development).
The assignment of skill entries to subject areas or industries is done via Folder in Vertec, which contain Project Phases . Project phases of all projects should therefore be grouped accordingly in folders. The same folders must also be able to accommodate skill entries. A skill entry is assigned to a group of phases by placing it in the same folder.
Before skill entries can be entered for users, the user Wrapper Link Type
must be set to active in the Einstellungen > Customizing > Linktypen
folder of Vertec.
Now you can create the desired folder structure. The subfolders correspond to the subject areas and must be able to accommodate project phases and skill entries:

A skill entry can be entered on the individual user via the menu Entry > New. The corresponding folder is assigned in the field Field of expertise.
In the fields competence and potential, the values of the employee are evaluated accordingly. These fields are string fields, so you can enter any strings of characters or even numbers. You determine the evaluation terms or scale yourself.
In order for the skills to be evaluated in the Business Intelligence module, all project phases must be assigned to the corresponding subject areas. This is done by dragging and dropping the phases into the corresponding folders.
There is a constraint, which defines that a year must be specified on the skill entry. If you want to use the skill entries without a year, you can disable or delete this constraint. It is called SkillEntry: Year not filled in and is located in the folder Settings > Customizing > Constraints.
The list for displaying skill entries has a year filter. Skill entries without year are always shown.
For the evaluation of the skills, the following Bi display must be created:
