You can enter new service types in the folder Settings > Projects > Service types
.
Field | Meaning |
---|---|
Code | An abbreviation is selected as the code to be entered later. This code is intended as an aid for entering information and is advantageously kept short. |
Active | Service types that are no longer used can be set to inactive in Vertec. They no longer appear in the drop-down list when services are entered. However, they are still available for evaluations, etc. Simply remove the active check mark. |
Text (language) | The text you enter (and translate if necessary) appears with the service being entered. See Entering services. |
Unit price |
The service types can also be defined as unit services and can be assigned a certain amount per unit (unit price). A unit price must be defined for the individual service type. If a user enters a service for such a service type, it is automatically classified as a unit service. The user only has to enter the relevant quantity.
|
Chargeable | If this option is not activated, new services with this service type will have an (external) value of 0. By default, this option is activated. |
Per diem | If this option is activated, a service entered for this service type is considered to be a per diem. The daily rate entered is then applied, which is entered automatically. |
Hide services | If this option is activated, services entered for this service type are automatically classified as hidden. This means that they are not explicitly shown on the invoice. However, their amount is reassigned to other services. |
If a service is entered for a specific service type, the project VAT rate is usually used. However, a VAT rate can also be entered for each service type on the Accounting
page. This VAT rate overrides the project rate when entering and applies to all services for that service type.
Generally, services can be entered without service types, which are optional.
Once you have defined service types, they appear for selection when entering services, unless they are restricted to specific projects or phases (see table below) because of phase type or project type assignments/llinks???.
In addition to the classification of services, the service types can assume the following functions:
Special rates for individual service types | Separate rates can be set for individual service types in the rate table. |
Per diems | Service types can be classified as per diems (see above). For information on how to work with per diems, see the article about setting hourly rates. |
Limiting service types to project types | You can limit service types to specific project types. If they are explicitly assigned to one or more project types, they only appear for entering on the projects of the project types to which they are assigned. For more information, see the article about project types. |
Assignment to phases | You can assign service types to phases. On this assignment, you can optionally define:
