Created: 04.02.2013
Updated: 09.10.2022 | Added new file for Vertec versions from 6.4.

This Excel file allows you to:

  • Scan in the list settings of a folder or a link container.
  • Change the parameters in the Excel table.
  • Transfer the values either to the current folder or container in Vertec or to all subfolders of the current folder.

Note: It is very important to be very careful about what is transferred. If list settings are transferred to folders where they are not suitable, Vertec can crash.

Scanning in list settings

In Vertec, select the container (folder or link container such as owned projects), from which you want to copy the list settings.

Double-click the Excel file and click on the button Scan in list settings???. A new worksheet is created with the name of the Vertec container. The values are scanned into the list settings list.

Note: If the message No list settings exist appears???, the container was previously reset in Vertec (List settings > Reset). In this case, open the list settings in Vertec once via the List settings button and close them again. After that, scanning should work.

Editing current Vertec container

In Vertec, select the container (folder or link container such as owned projects), to which you want to transfer the list settings, or the folder to whose subfolder you want to transfer the list settings.

In Excel, select the appropriate worksheet. Make sure that the settings match (for example, that you don’t transfer list settings for addresses to projects).

If necessary, individual parameters can be changed in Excel before you transfer them.

If everything is as desired, click on one of the following buttons:

  • Transferring list settings

The list settings of the current worksheet are transferred to the current container in Vertec.

  • Transferring to subfolders

The list settings of the current worksheet are transferred to all subfolders of the current folder in Vertec.

In Vertec, you need to re-select the container/folder after the transfer for the customization to be visible.

Resetting list settings

When transferring the list settings, there is no validation check to see if the list settings match the current container/folder. If you accidentally copy the wrong list settings, you can reset the list to its default settings. You can also execute this function if Vertec is showing error messages. Just click on this button and restart Vertec.

Ghostrow on/off

This allows you to show/hide / turn on and off??? the row with the asterisk to enter new entries. Please note that it is not possible to enter new entries in all lists. In such cases, you should turn off/hide??? the entry row.

Note: If the message No list settings exist appears, the container was previously reset in Vertec (List settings > Reset). In this case, open the list settings in Vertec once via the List settings button and close them again. After that, scanning should work.

Editing on/off

This allows you to define whether the displayed list can be edited in principle. In the list settings, it is then manually defined which individual fields can be edited and which are read-only.

Note: If the message No list settings exist appears, the container was previously reset in Vertec (List settings > Reset). In this case, open the list settings in Vertec once via the List settings button and close them again. After that, scanning should work.
