Created: 07.05.2003
Updated: 20.05.2021 | Added note to version 6.4.0.21.

The procedure outlined below is only relevant for Vertec versions up to 6.4.0.21 or for previously existing installations.

Instead of following the procedure described in this article, you have the option of working with the additional feature: conflict check. This identifies early on conflicts of interest between various parties when opening cases so as to prevent any overlaps. You can find out how to download and use this config set in the article conflict check .

If you are already working with the variant detailed here, you can also switch to the additional feature or import the config set . The additional feature uses unchanged the already defined counterparties as well as the interweavings and counterweavings.

Interweavings

The option to enter interweavings has been designed specifically for the legal profession. It serves to manage the conflicts of interest of different parties in order to avoid overlaps later. You can enter both the interweavings of your clients and the interweavings of the counterparties (opposing lawyer). A special conflict search can be used to search for specific sequences of letters at a later stage.

The information for conflict search on cases becomes visible if the relevant setting is activated: System settings - Case tab > Show information on case interrelationships (conflict search)???

On the Further information page for the case, the two fields below exist: Interweavings and Interweavings counterparty.

Enter the terms here that you can use to identify an interweaving later (e.g. company name).

Counterparty

Another way of entering counterparties is to assign a counterparty address to the relevant case. This is done via drag & drop, Role: counterparties.

Conflict search

To perform a collision check, go to the Settings menu and click on Conflict search... A search window opens in which you can search for any term. Vertec carries out a full-text search in the two interweaving fields as well as in the counterparty link, and lists the projects found. By double-clicking on them, you can open and view the projects found. All projects are searched, including inactive ones.
