What is a data field?

Data fields (also called attributes) are the descriptive properties of an object. As an example, a project in Vertec has attributes such as Code, Beschrieb, Projekttyp, Tarifstufe etc.

Calculated Data Fields

A derived attribute, a calculated data field, differs from a normal attribute in that it is calculated and does not itself save a value.

On the interface, derived attributes can be accessed normally. When a read access is made, the values are shown normally. However, no value can be assigned to such an attribute, because it would always be recalculated and would constantly overwrite the set value.

If, for example, such a value is set (accidentally) via script, it will be in the memory as it was set. On the display interface, everything will look normal. If Vertec is closed, however, the set value will be lost and the calculated value will be displayed again.

In order to influence a derived attribute, it is necessary to access the attributes from which the derived attribute is calculated.

Below you will find descriptions of all existing derived attributes in Vertec, sorted by class to which they belong. For space reasons, the detailed descriptions have been outlays into individual articles. Just click on the corresponding header to get to the desired article:
