There are almost no limits to the vertec toolbox

The requirements for software for project management, data and file management, or invoicing vary greatly depending on the business area. Accordingly, the company has long been working with different, in-house developed access solutions. Thanks to Vertec, engineers now manage all relevant processes with a single application.

Lean business structures, short decision-making channels and modern working tools characterize the way in which Osterwalder, Lehmann engineers and Geometer AG operate. They have been providing services in the fields of surveying, geoinformatics, planning, civil engineering and construction law for more than 50 years. However, the existing software solutions, which have grown gradually, do not meet the demands on performance and multi-user environments. “We worked with different, self-created access solutions and carried out some process steps manually,” says Nelly Schumann, Geoinformatics Project Manager at OLIG.

«We are convinced by the fact that we can configure the company-specific needs and processes individually for each business area as well as ourselves.»

The engineering company therefore introduced Vertec’s integrated business software, which was perfectly tailored to the company’s needs. “Vertec is a toolbox that knows almost no boundaries,” says Geomatist Schumann: “The requirements for project management, file storage, invoicing, etc. vary greatly depending on the business sector and location. Thanks to the software architecture and clever configuration, Vertec still fulfils configuration all the requirements of employees and managementManagement Team”

The implementation of Vertec did not only leave its mark on the software. “The Vertec specialists are not only familiar with software, but also with business processes,” says Schumann. “Implementing the software gave us the opportunity to rethink and optimize the processes for each business area.”

Today, Vertec supports employees in many routine tasks. For example, Vertec provides automatic checklists for official surveying, and the sometimes very complex municipal and cantonal rates for building and fire police settlements are now stored as standard values for invoicing. “Our employees now need less time for administration and can invest their energy fully in the concerns of our customers,” says Schumann.
