You can delete data in Vertec that you no longer need. A sub-function of deleting is to uncouple objects from lists or from linked entries. This is called unlink.

  • The delete option is always offered if the user has the rights to delete an object. Certain entries cannot be deleted or must meet certain criteria in order to be deleted. For example, if you want to delete projects, they must be inactive; invoices that have been charged cannot be deleted, etc. If this is the case, a suitable error message appears explaining to you why the data set cannot be deleted.
  • The unlink option is only offered if the relevant link is dissolvable. This means that the affected link members are writable and the business logic allows the link to be dissolved (e.g. a phase cannot be disconnected from the project). Custom links with delete forwarding cannot be disconnected. Therfore, if such a link is set, the entries cannot be unlinked.

Deleting data permanently

To permanently delete data, you have the following options:

Deleting individual data sets

You can open the individual data set in a separate window and select Actions > Delete from the menu:

Another option is to select the individual data set in the list or tree and select delete with the right mouse button.

Deleting multiple objects in lists

You can also delete an entire list of objects. Select the desired objects in the list and select delete with the right mouse button.

Unlink

Wherever, in addition to deleting the object, there is the option of removing it from another object, the unlink function is also available in the menu as well as the delete function, for example to remove an open service from an invoice:
