Gender-appropriate language aims to recognise and normalise diversity, which is why it is also relevant for companies at all levels of communication. The use of gender-appropriate language sends a message both to employees in the company and to potential customers.
This application is an Additional Feature . The corresponding config sets can be found here .
In order to name not only the masculine form, special characters can be used. When gendering with special characters, the respective symbol is placed between the masculine and the feminine endings.
In this article, two config sets are available, with which the German Vertec terms are represented in a gender-appropriate form by means of translations. You can choose between the spelling with an asterisk or a colon.
Example of translations when importing the config set with Genderstern:
This additional feature translates some terms that also occur in other additional features. The translation of the last loaded config set is always used.
Missing or unwanted translations are best reentered or edited manually, see Translation entries in vertec .
Important information before importing can be found in the article Interesting facts about the additional features . The exact import process can be found in the Articles about the config sets .
