Plug-in: Project Templates

This plug-in imports an example of a project template, which can select a project after create a new project. From the selected project template, the template values are then projected to the new project. Carried over

You can use this example to entered your own project templates.

Download and install

Download the plug-in with the following download link and install it in your Vertec. The exact procedure is in the article   Things worth knowing about the plug-ins described.

• The Expert product line is a prerequisite for this plug-in.
• The Budget & Phases module must be licensed.

To create a new template, create a project and select the one implemented by this plug-in Project type   Vorlage :

This will show the project under Settings > Projects in the Project templates folder, which was also created by the plug-in:

Now the project can be configured according to individual needs. The following conditions apply:

• The template project must be of type Template and have code.
• No additional fields need to be filled, i.e. there are no mandatory fields. If a field in the template project is not filled, this field will also be cleared in the new project. This means that already existing data may be deleted. The project template should therefore only be applied to newly created projects.
• To ensure that no times can be posted on project templates, they should be set to inactive (deactivate checkbox Active).

Using a project template

To enter a project based on a project template, proceed as follows:

1. Capture a new project  or open an existing one.
2. Select the option Select project template via the Actions menu:

   

3. A dialog will appear where you can select the desired template:

   

All fields that are blank by default, but in which something has been entered or selected, are retained when the template is selected. If you want them to be applied over from the template, the corresponding fields must be cleared first.

All fields that always contain a value are overwritten by the template (except for the project code and project leader). These are:

• On the project page: All values in the settings section, except VAT.
• On the Presets page: The checkboxes and the field Pauschalbetrag  in the Invoicing section. The fields Prozent and Betrag are overwritten there only if they were empty before selecting the template.

4. At the end, a message appears that the project template has been successfully applied:

   

Notes:

• Project templates can only be applied once per project.
• Only users of User group Project leaders and supervisors can apply project templates.
• When using the additional function Conflict check counterparties and checks carried out are also applied from the submission to the project or case.
