By default, Vertec starts with the tree view. If you click on a folder on the left, the relevant list appears on the right; in this example, all active projects.
In the title row, you can see by the arrow which column the list is sorted by; in this example, by the project code.
To sort the list, click the arrow button in the title row next to the column you want to sort by. The sort order is Ascending > Descending > Off.
The arrow remains visible for the sorting column (for example, in the Project code column in the screenshot above).
To search in a column, click on the small magnifying glass in the title row (the shortcut CTRL+F opens the list search directly in the sorted list column):
The search box opens:
When you start typing, Vertec selects the first entry with this initial letter and adds the found term in the search box. Now, you can continue typing or close the search:
> 1st ENTER closes the search box
> 2nd ENTER opens the entry
Depending on whether you are in the tree, in a list or in a dialog, a click or double-click opens the selected entry.
Alternatively, this can be done via the right mouse button (context menu):
Right-clicking in the list refers to the cell contents, i.e. the text or control that is shown at this place.
The context menu for the object (in this example, a project) appears when you right-click in the first gray column:
If you enter something in the list (e.g. a text below), the 1st ENTER closes the entry mode and the 2nd ENTER opens the entry.
On each field – be it a single field or a field in a list – zoom can be opened with the function key F2:
Multi-row text can also be entered comfortably here. As long as you are in the zoom window, ENTER means a carriage return. Pressing F2 again or continuing to navigate with TAB closes the zoom window again.
All keyboard shortcuts for the operation of input fields and lists can be found here.
If you click on an arrow in the tree, the tree opens and the entries in the list appear in the tree. The tree has the following special features:
There is even more information behind the address bar. If you click on the row next to the breadcrumbs or press the function key F4, the breadcrumb URL appears.
The breadcrumb URL shows any view in Vertec as a URL. This can be exchanged between Vertec clients via email as a deep link or linked in a document. The breadcrumb URL works in the same way as a short or long version (see below
):
vertec://Christoph+Keller-676/owned+projects-49/COMINSTALL-2880/
orvertec://676/49/2880/
To the right of the breadcrumb URL, there are three buttons for reusing the URL:
Copy URL to display in Vertec Desktop App and Vertec Cloud App. Like with any link, you can paste the URL into a document. Clicking on it opens the relevant entry directly in the Vertec Desktop App or the Vertec Cloud App (the current app or the one that was last opened).
Display URL in the Web App. Like with any link, you can paste the URL into a document. Clicking on it opens the relevant entry directly in the Vertec Web App.
Send the URL via email. Clicking on this button creates an email containing the current URL in Vertec format and Web format. The name of the selected entry is inserted as the subject line of the email. |
The breadcrumb URL can also be entered directly in the “Windows run window” (Windows key + R).
The URL contains the path to the currently displayed object. The path elements are uniquely identified by their ID. To make the URLs readable for humans, the URL consists of both the ID and the string representation. Example:
vertec://CK-676/owned+projects-49/COMINSTALL-2880/
However, the URL also works as a short version, in which only the IDs are displayed, e.g.
vertec://676/49/2880/
In the Web App, the URL begins with http:// or https://. In order for this to be translated correctly, the server address must be set accordingly in the Vertec.ini file in the cloud server section.
Individual objects are sorted in the tree as follows:
You can sort folders and subfolders in the tree using the index
, which is configurable in the folder properties
. These are sorted by ascending index. If nothing is specified, the folders are sorted alphabetically.
The individual entries within a folder are listed in the tree alphabetically according to the default display (see class settings
). Exception: the phases
, which are sorted in the order indicated by the arrows above the list ( orderidx
).
From Vertec 6.5, the following entries are sorted by default as follows:
Furthermore, from Vertec 6.5 (Expert product line only), it is possible to individually define the sorting in the tree for each class via class settings using an OCL expression.
You can define how the entries in the list (right) are sorted via the List settings .
