In Vertec, folders are used to create structures and categorize content, using Expression, SQL and Query in addition to regular folders.
Objects can be assigned to folders manually. “Normal folders” are also used for Mapping of keywords.
A new folder is created by right-clicking on an existing folder. Select New > Folder.
The following window will open:
designation |
Name of the folder. |
Free reference |
On each Vertec object there is a field called Free Reference. This can be used freely. For more information, see the article about the properties dialog. |
Classes |
Selection of the classes that the folder is allowed to hold. |
list controller |
As of Vertec 6.6, a List Controller can be stored here. |
Index |
The index can be used to specify the sort in the tree. Vertec simply sorts the folders by ascending index. If nothing is specified, the folders are sorted by objid. |
Icon |
All icons in Vertec are assigned a number. If you want to use a different icon for this folder than the default folder Icon (-1), you can enter the index of the desired icon here. The corresponding numbers can be found in the article Icons. |
Allow subfolders |
If you want to create a multi-level data structure and this folder should have subfolders, this checkbox must be activated. |
Own list for each type |
If the folder contains entries of different types, a separate list can be shown for each type. See the article Folder contents with separate list per type. |
Expandable |
Vertec 6.7.0.17. If this checkbox is deactivated, the folder in the tree cannot be opened. |
keyword folder |
For the categorization and categorization of the different entries in Vertec, the folder can be marked here as a Keyword Folder. |
Icon for subfolder |
If an icon index is specified here (see also field above), it is automatically assigned to newly created subfolders as icons. Changing this value does not affect existing subfolders. |
For class |
With activator of the checkbox keyword folder the class of the entries has to be entered here. |
Inclusive
|
The description of these fields can be found in the folder Folder as keywords article. |
As soon as you have made these adjustments, the new folder will appear in the folder structure. From now on, the allowed entries can be assigned, either via a keyword assignment or manually via drag & drop.
Note: To assign objects via a checkbox, the renderer rndKeywordFolder can be used.
These folders are located in Vertec and do not correspond to the file repository. How to link documents in Vertec to your file repository is explained in the Document management with vertec.
