The Fastviewer program allows Vertec’s supporters to support you “live” at your workstation. A few mouse clicks are enough to establish the connection between you and Vertec’s supporter. Ad hoc, without installation, configuration or registration. By selecting the application, you ensure that only the screen contents are transmitted that should also be visible to the consultant’s eye.

How it works

If you need help working with Vertec, you can open the support page directly from within Vertec. In the menu you will find the item Kundenbereich und Support.

After downloading, you can start the FastViewer directly:

Enter the session number you will receive from Vertec. Your username will be automatically entered as the name, but you can also overwrite it. Then click Connect.

You will now be prompted to allow screen sharing. Click here to approve all apps to give your Vertec consultant full visibility.

If you want to transfer only individual applications, first click on the << Select Applications button. In the pop-up window, activate only the parts of your system that you want to transfer for viewing.

Now your consultant looks at your screen. On your screen, the collapsed Fastviewer panel appears on the right side of your screen.

The Fastviewer panel can be expanded and collapsed by clicking on the square icon.

With this panel you can turn on and off the following functionalities, among others:

  • Pause button: This stops the screen transmission. The other person sees the last transmitted image for as long as it is.
  • Play button: This can be used to re-activate a paused screen transfer
  • Stop button: The remote maintenance session with your Vertec consultant will be completed (after consultation)
  • F11: Immediate withdrawal of remote control authorization. The Vertec consultant can only watch and work with the pointer arrow.
  • Application selection: Here you can subsequently control which program windows are visible to the Vertec consultant
  • File storage: This allows files to be exchanged between your PC and the Vertec Advisor’s PC

More Information

The only condition for a Fastviewer session to work is that you can surf the Internet with your browser unrestricted.

Since all communication takes place via the HTTP protocol (port 80), the firewall is not an obstacle for FastViewer. Any proxy settings are automatically read by the browser.
